The tragic events of September 11, 2001, clearly reveal that: (1) America’s present immigration system directly affects our vital national security interests; (2) the system is overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of people flowing through it; (3) our current immigration laws are disregarded by many who come here and often are not enforced or are unevenly enforced by government officials; (4) even when enforced, our laws and policies often contain gaping loopholes and fundamental flaws; and (5) significant changes are essential to secure America’s national interests.
As part of United to Secure America, a national coalition, POP.STOP believes that immigration should be in the national interest.
